Planecaster Youtube Danny has asked Pete to join a live stream and he’s now part of the Planecaster furniture. PLIW is supplying actual live aircraft data on-screen for aircraft within range of the airport which perfectly accompany the live stream. I guess this is the result when 2 tec heads get together over coffee. Please pay Danny's channel a visit. Hit that subscribe button, and the bell to never miss an epic stream.

27/02/2025 - Have aquired a Web-888 SDR and have set it up to use HFDL Observer. Have now got a full HFDL setup running with the following HFDL Map Live aircraft plot data received during the last 24 hours on a map, HFDL ACARS aircraft data Live monitoring view/stream ACARS/VDLM2 aircraft DATA transmissions, HFDL Heatmap Heatmap of data received during the last 24 hours on a map
26/02/2025 - Have been on and offline trying to resolve some USB BUS issues due to the small Dell PC I am using. Looks like an upgrade is required. Also have moved the Iridium across to said server and docker. Whilst at it have added heatmap for it. Iridium Heatmap Heatmap of data received during the last 24 hours on a map.
03/02/2025 - ACARS/VDLM2 aircraft data is back online with Iridium messages.
Have updated Iridium and added Iridium MT Map Live Map reporting the pings of an Iridium terminal as they contact passing satellite over my location
I've relocated and slowly getting set back up. In doing so there are plans to do various changes and upgrades to everything. My ISP has now issued me static IP so this place is going to be easier reach. For now the only active SDR is ADSB but I will expand and add more soon as I can.
02/05/2024 - Made a change to the ADSB Receiver Performance Graphs, have made all graphs large. ADSB Receiver Performance Graphs Here
01/05/2024 - Had to reboot the system to deploy a new Linux Kernel version. Before the reboot uptime was : up 10 weeks, 1 day, 13 hours, 28 minutes. I also ran a stack to update and deploy all directories with a docker-compose file.
29/04/2024 - I've made changes to the Acarshub Alerts field in the hopes of recording additional custom messages sent. Acarshub Alers Here
26/04/2024 - The VDLM2 SDR has failed. A spare new dongle was installed and DATA is now being received.
09/04/2024 - Installed NoiseCapt and a USB Lavalier Microphone to the setup. NoiseCapt captures audio levels around my station, and creates a graph of the audio levels and a spectrogram for each entry in Planefence. A 5 seconds sound clip is also recorded for playback. Still tweaking the best location for the microphone, wind noise is a issue. Planefence Here
11/03/2024 - Added VRS (Virtual Radar Server) to the server and site. VRS Here
09/03/2024 - Added TinyGS to the site. TinyGS Here
07/03/204 - Replacement AIS AB Dongle is fully stable so far. Looks to be a faulty dongle, now to go test it.
06/03/2024 - Few little updates to the site, layout, content and context.
05/03/2024 - The AIS Dongle, AB has been lost from the system. On investigation the powered USB hub wasn't showing as power or DATA for the port that this is connected to. Unplug/replug has resolved the issue.
EDIT 1: Sadly this was short lived as the issues has reappeared.
EDIT 2: A new fresh dongle has been installed and now testing (running live system) is underway, fingers crossed it's resolved. This page should load if eveything is working
28/02/2024 - The Trigkey G4 (mini pc) that is running the Iridium decoding has been subject of some benchmarking testing by Loather_of_the_Hill_People from the SDR Enthusiasts Discord group. This is all about the max performance to be achieved. Normal service has been restored.
24/02/2024 - New website for pliw, thought it was about time I made this a little more presentable. Oh and use Google to host it :)
